To do so, the international research center located in Bonn counts on a path-breaking new kind of cooperation between biologists and computer scientists, engineers and chemists, mathematicians and medics.
Teams, according to requirements composed of modelers, experimenters, and developers work on projects with a work order that is described in detail regarding content and duration of the projects. These must be of scientific relevance and simultaneously market-oriented, i.e. applicable.
Also the financial and legal principle on the basis of which the research center is working, is exceptionally. caesar is established as a foundation under private law. The foundation capital comes from public sources, the Federation (around 90%), the state North-Rhine-Westphalia (around 10%) and the city of Bonn contributed part of the land.
